WCR maintains its 100% podium rate in Racing League Romania

The third race weekend at Imola brought another podium for West Competition Racing, further consolidating P2 in the teams' classification.

Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari represented the third challenge of Season 5 in RLR, where a pack of six drivers are storming the front through speed and consistency. WCR's Alex Cascatau and Radu Dumitrescu are part of that leading group, proving their pace all along the week and confirming it under pressure in the 10-minute qualifying session.

In Race 1, Cascatau started third and moved up into second early on, leaving his rivals Bechir and Moisescu behind in a fight that turned sour. Dumitrescu had to recover after an error early on, moving up lap after lap to score some points once more. He ended 12th, one second and one place behind WCR Academy driver Bogdan Moldovan. Unfortunately, Mihnea Georgescu's race ended abruptly with a gearbox failure on the last lap, as he was en route to a top 10 finish.

Race 2 brought a crazy fight between the WCR and Lunar Racing pairs, with our sim racers winning this particular battle. Cascatau and Dumitrescu were 5th and 6th at the flag, with some major scares along the way. Less fortunate, Bogdan Moldovan was sent off the track and straight into a wall, while Mihnea Georgescu was caught in the start melee and could only salvage 16th.

After his two solid placements at Imola, Cascatau moves up into fifth in the drivers' standings, one place ahead of Dumitrescu. Moldovan is currently 9th with 34 points and Georgescu 23rd with 7. West Competition Racing moves further away from the opposition to consolidate second place in the teams' classification, while the WCR Academy drops to fifth.
