RLR Radical Sprint Cup: A maiden podium on the second front

At the end of an exhilarating contest, Victor Nicolae left his simulator rig with the confidence of having cracked the code to the Radical SR8. Andrei Ursan sadly still waits for his season to take off, postponing his charge to Sebring after his latest misfortunes.

”A rival like Emanuel Gaczella felt untouchable to me in Round 1, at Laguna Seca. Not the case anymore at Road America” said Nicolae after a head-to head battle in the first heat of the evening. Seventh at the flag was in line with the previous results, but everything changed in the second race. The Aqirys car caught the right train and stayed in the three-way fight for the win right until the end. Viewers and sim racers agreed - it was one of the best fights ever seen in Racing League Romania.

On the other side of the WCR garage, Andrei Ursan was in the wrong place on lap one, with no way to avoid being hit by a spinning car. Repairs meant no chance for points, but the Textar eSports racer duly recovered in race two: a masterful gain of 20 positions en route to P8. Still, one can only hope these two events will be the ones he discards, as per the N-2 rule, at the end of the season.

Victor Nicolae currently stands in fifth overall with 52 points, 27 behind the leader. Andrei Ursan has amassed 10 points. The next round takes place at Sebring in two weeks time.
