Racing League Romania: West Competition Racing doubles up the efforts ahead of the new season

Season 5 of Romania's most important sim racing series starts this Sunday with West Competition Racing more involved than ever.

WCR debuted during last autumn's championship with the Racing League Romania champion Alexandru Cascatău in its ranks. Alongside him, Radu Dumitrescu and Mihnea Georgescu cemented the place of the team high up in the standings - after 10 events, all three contestants ended up into the top 10 and WCR got the bronze medal in the teams classification. Both Cascatău and Dumitrescu had the opportunity to claim a race win.

Strong displays in winter testing and pre-season test races got everyone warmed up ahead of the new challenge: a string of 10 race weekends starting March, 15. Regulations mandated two-car structures, which meant more of an opportunity than a limitation for our group. As such, West Competition Racing will align Cascatău and Dumitrescu and a secondary pair will race under the ”WCR Academy” banner. It comprises the re-signing of Georgescu and a chance for one of the most promising rookies, Bogdan Moldovan from Cluj-Napoca.

Racing League Romania grows spectacularly, as WCR negotiated a deal with BMW România that brings the live streams to half a million people on the brand's Facebook page. Calling out the action on the stream will be our very own sporting director Alexandru Șiclovan who joined the RLR studio at the end of last season and had a very pleasant experience.
